Merħba

Matul ix-xhur li għaddew, iltqajt ma' eluf ta' nies minn kull aspett tal-ħajja, sfondi, affiljazzjoni politika u status.

Iltqajt ma' tant żgħażagħ li għandhom xewqa kbira li jkunu parti minn forza għat-titjib ta' pajjiżna, li fiha jistgħu jitgħallmu u jiżviluppaw bħala individwi u jistgħu jikkontribwixxu b'mod attiv għall-ġid komuni. Iltqajt ma’ sidien ta' negozji żgħażagħ li huma mħassba dwar ir-reżiljenza tal-ekonomija biex nassiguraw is-sostenibbiltà tagħha fil-futur. Iltqajt ma’ professjonisti li huma inkwetati serjament dwar il-ħsara fir-reputazzjoni ta’ pajjiżna li kkawżaw l-aħħar 8 snin ta' Gvern Laburista.

Il-korruzzjoni istituzzjonalizzata, l-abbuż tal-poter u l-ħtif tal-istat minn gang kriminali ħammġu serjament ir-reputazzjoni u l-attrazzjoni internazzjonali ta’ Malta b’konsegwenzi fit-tul fuq numru ta’ setturi. Iltqajt ma' koppji żgħażagħ li huma mħassba li l-pajjiż m'għandux viżjoni xierqa. Mill-elezzjoni tiegħi bħala Kap tal-Partit, irrealizzajt iktar minn qatt qabel, li n-nies jixtiequ bidla fil-mod kif qed jitmexxa dan il-pajjiż.

Nista' nara s-sens imġedded tagħhom ta' twemmin li din il-bidla hija possibbli. Dan il-pajjiż jinsab f’salib it-toroq. F’din il-mument delikat ilkoll nistgħu nikkontribwixxu direttament fl-ideat u l-formazzjoni tal-politika u l-viżjoni tagħna għall-pajjiż biex nippermettu l-bidla li nixtiequ. Wasal iż-żmien.

Din it-tama u t-twemmin imġedda li nara u nħoss f’ħafna minnkom tkompli timlieni bil-kuraġġ u l-entużjażmu biex inkompli l-vjaġġ li bdejna flimkien b’ambizzjoni komuni li nkunu gvern alternattiv. Magħqudin, se nirnexxu.

Flimkien, nistgħu nkunu l-bidla. Jien lest. Inti? Kun il-Bidla.

Welcome

Over the past months, I have met with thousands of people from all walks of life, backgrounds, political affiliation and status.

I have met with so many youths who have a burning desire to be part of a force for the betterment of our country, in which they can learn and develop as individuals and can actively contribute to the common good. I have met young business owners who are concerned about the resilience of the economy in order to ensure its sustainability in the future. I have met professionals who are seriously worried about the reputational damage the past 8 years of a Labour government have caused.

The institutionalized corruption, abuse of power and state capture by a criminal gang have seriously dented Malta’s reputation and international attractiveness with long-lasting consequences on a number of sectors. I have met with young couples who are concerned that the country lacks a proper vision. Since my election as Party leader, I have realized more than ever before, that people desire a change in the way this country is being run.

I can see their renewed sense of belief that this change is possible. This country is at a crossroads. At this delicate juncture, we can all contribute directly to the ideation and formation of our policies and vision for the country to enable the change we desire. The time is now.

This renewed hope and belief that I see and feel in many of you continue filling me with the courage and enthusiasm to continue the journey we have embarked upon altogether with a common ambition to be an alternative government. United, we will succeed.

Together, we can be the change. I am ready. Are you? Be the change.
