  • Malta.

    This I state to the a Maltese and Gozitan population. We need to change, slowly but surely. We will not grow and we might even drown. Photo says it all.


  • Malta Cultural Heritage Fund

    Every day we are losing parts of our history, culture and natural environment, and the government should be the ones safeguarding all of these for the citizens of the past, present and future, but they have not done enough in the past and continue to degrade our islands. This is why I feel it would be prudent for the next government to take action and show they mean business. The Malta Cultural Heritage Fund would be a partnership with cultural and environmental NGOs (e.g. Din L-Art Helwa, Wirt Artna) and Heritage Malta for the setting up of a government/crowd-funded fund managed by NGOs for the purchasing of sanctioned buildings with cultural, historical or architectural significance and plots of land at proper value (not inflated market value) as well as the preservation of these properties with the aim of opening them up to the public and for use as venues (weddings, parties, events, etc.), public gardens with complementing amenities, farmland for production of local produce, for which the profits will then be injected back into the fund. There are many ways to further elaborate on this but this suggestion gives a good skeleton to how to get things started.


  • Malta needs to dream for a second republic

    We have seen in recent years, our state, our political system , has past its expiry date. In this contest I suggest PN takes on the brunt of proposing a complete constitutional and electoral reform. The reform shall be done by technocrats and 'wise men' mandated to draft a new constitution based on their expertise and experience. Once drafted this constitution draft should be put to the people for a consultative referendum. If all goes well Malta will have a new constitution and electoral system in one legislature.

  • Marine Current Energy Conversion

    Living on an island surrounded by large volumes of sea water, I believe that we can explore whether the possibility of under water currents which run around our islands can be a source of energy. We know that marine currents can carry large amounts of energy and this can easily occur in straits between islands and the mainland. It is not believed that marine energy technologies will replace gas or petroleum but could become an asset in producing clean energy. I am confident that we can identify sites around our islands which generate potential underwater currents.   • Mater Dei employee parking

    Improve Mater Dei employee parking. Employees are arriving nearly an hour early for work just to find parking. This can be done by providing park and ride services


  • Mater Dei Parking

    Lately I am noticing many complaints re Hospital parking. I know it a private company running the parking...but I suggest that who issues the license should change or negotiate new terms. I also don't agree that -1 & -2 are reserved for staff only....and noticing that many car spaces are free from cars. This is very frustating. I hope that the party will take this into consideration. THKS


  • Maternity/Paternity Leave Sharing Option

    Our maternity/paternity laws in this country and severely outdated and need to be revised for the modern world we have been living in for the past decade or more. There should be an allowance for couples to be able to share any "birth leave" between them should they wish to do so. This could be the current 18 weeks provided as maternity or, if financially viable, more. Current conditions are sexist and promote the gender pay gap and this is a relatively simple measure to implement from a practical standpoint. This is a way to promote gender equality throughout the country. It's been implemented in other countries with relative success so I do not see how it can't work here.


  • Mental Health

    One in three people worried about their mental health in July (Times 31/8/21 article ) It’s time to consider mental health as a top priority hand in hand with protecting the environment - also offering first aid training: from local councils to businesses & organisations. Mental health services should be offered from health Centres 24/7 - to deal with emergencies and offer immediate help/first aid even if called out to visit a patient, when necessary. To consider subsidising costs to psychologist/psychiatric for those with chronic situations. To get some meds onto the POYC system. To beef up recreational spaces in each community /locality so people can take healthy walks without air or noise pollution. To insist that buildings must factor in, the mental health of residents living in pokey places, so closely near each other without ‘lung spaces’ to enjoy. Mental health is a key issue affecting people’s work, production output levels, quality of family relationships, impact on common good in society - it must be given a decent enough budget to cater for more professionals in the field. If necessary, import professionals from overseas to cater for the demand. Perhaps offer pledges to NGOs who initiate & enable wellbeing projects in the community, for children, youth, the elderly etc…. To get off their screens but enjoy the outdoors. To offer opportunities for volunteering so people can share their talents, qualities, expertise and feel needed by others who seek them. This sense of purpose and belonging is more valuable than money for some. A campaign to teach people the value of mental health over ‘wealth’ is necessary, to get our priorities right. Thank you


  • Mental health first aid and education in schools and workplaces

    Mental health is a crucial determinant to overall physical health. Since the place of work is a huge part of every employee’s life, the presence of multiple stressors at work can give rise to a range of problems in both personal and professional lives. In the same way, struggling to cope with stress caused by personal issues may decrease the ability of performing well at work. The current context needs to call for more work to: provide support to frontline staff; improve communication with patients, families, hospital staff and service providers; and distribute comprehensive information and advice regarding mental well-being to allay fear and apprehension among the public and schools, using multiple means of resources available. Past achievements and recent changes augur well for more widespread developments that will permeate the whole mental-health system and enrich the delivery of quality mental-health services to patients and families. It is Malta’s and the PN’s aim that these services will have a continued focus on low-income families, disadvantaged groups and high-risk individuals whereby the stigma and discrimination associated with mental disorders will be eliminated from Maltese society.


  • merchandise transport to Gozo

    Most containers bound for Gozo are unloaded either at the Freeport or at Ras Hanzir at Marsa. They then have to go up to Cirkewwa for crossing over to Gozo, sometimes causing considerable traffic jams en route. Since Marsa and B'Bugia are both in the southern area of Malta, can't there be a ferry specifically assigned to these trucks/containers whereby they are loaded from one of the ports and taken directly to Gozo. This will result in less travel time on the road as well as less pollution and less stress for the drivers of these heavy vehicles.

    If a person does not watch Net/Net news and does not follow the related pages on social media or the pages of pn candidates/pn leaning people, HOW ARE THEY GOING TO KNOW WHAT THE PN HAS TO SAY? A social media page Kun in Bidla may be the answer where pn proposals are shown, participation is asked from the public where eg prizes can be won if a comment is left etc. discussions can ne started eg : xtahsbu fuq il kontijiet tad dawl u l-ilma. Kieku xtiproponu? Like that you get engagement to the page. It will be just about the Pn message regarding malta and the general person well being and not the pn leader speeches or candidates etc. Should the followers get interested in whoever is behind these changes , then they join the leader page and the candidate page themselves.

  • Metro system

    I want to live in a country that looks to the future. The reality is that everyone is aware of the chaotic situation in Maltese roads. Widening roads is clearly not the way to go, but the real solution has been staring us in the face for quite some time. Malta needs a metro system, as soon as possible. With people who are more than capable to provide an insight on the social and environmental impact assessment of such a big project, a metro system presents a solution to a number of problems - be it traffic, pollution and the fact that our roads are in a constant state of construction. With connections potentially all over the island, a more focussed bus system can increase efficiency of public transport, while also reducing the dependency on cars.


  • Micro-mobility at a local level

    More incentives need to be given to people that want to travel using alternative means of transport (example: cycling, scooter, etc.) at a local/town level. If voyages under 2km are not done using a car this could help create a trickle down effect that would ease congestion not just in towns, but also on a national level as with time more people would opt for e-bikes, e-scooters and other means. First priority would be that users that are willing to make that shift can travel safely within towns. Maybe creating a safe ring road around town centers could be a good start. A financial incentive to people that give up their car could also be a great way to give the scheme a boost.

Nahseb li xieraq li ghallinqas il gvern ma jkomplix iwaddab iktar problemi f'B'Buga! Jien minhiex kontra t trakka IMMA din qatt ma kellha sdir fil limiti ta' B'Buga. U ma jigux bl iskuza li n nies iriduha t trakka. Iriduha minn irid itellaq li hafna minnhom ma jghixux hawn! Fejn hu l PN f'dan ir rigward? Possibbli m'hawn hadd minn jaqbez ghalina?!

    Jista xi ħadd jgħidli kemm hemm kandidati tal-PN għal-elezzjoni li ġejja, għax ħlief l-istess nies ma' tismax fuq RadjuFM u tara fuq NetTV tal-partit. L-oħrajn qishom ma' jeżistux. Kont qed nitkellem ma' wieħed mill-kandidati li jaħdem ħafna għal-partit fuq id-distrett tagħna, biex ikun mistieden biex jitkellem jew iwieġeb lis-semmiegħa iridu jghaddu s-snin. Ghaliex ma' nagħtux ċans lil kulħadd l-istess? U hawn ħafna imweġġin minħabba f'hekk. L-istess nies li jinstemu fuq ir-radju, wara ftit tarahom fuq it-TV, jirrepetu l-istess diskors ta' fuq ir-radju.   • Mobilta aħjar - sistema ta’ mass transit: Underground?

    Dan huwa suġġett li studjajtu sew bejn is-sena 2006 u 2008 meta kont Head of Secretatiat fl-MUDR. Kelli diġa il-pjan konċettwali / ġenerali imma kont qed ninsisti li kien għad iridu jsiru studji fil-fond qabel ma tkun tista’ titieċed xi forma ta direzzjoni generali. Sfortunatament wara l-elezzjoni tal-2008, tbiddel il-Ministru u waqaf kollox. Peress li dan is-suġġett issa qam fl-attenzjoni pubblika wara iktar minn tlettax-il sena li twaqqaft minn minustru ta’ gvern nazzjonalista, nixtieq ngħaddi ħsibijiet u kunsiderazzjonijiet li akkwistajt mill-għarfien u esperjenzi tiegħi. Hemm ħafna x’nista’ ngħid u nikkontribwixxi, imma għal issa se nullimita ruħi għal kunsiderazzjonijiet relevanti fil-mument u stadju eżistenti. Qabel ma xi ħadd jibda jħażżeż minn fejn se tgħaddi u x’forma tista’ tieħu sistema ta’ mass transport bħal underground u/jew xi forma ta’ light rail u/jew monorail u/jew etc., l-ewwel irid isir studju dettaljat tal-ħtiġijiet ta’ mobilita tal-poplu kollu; minn fejn jitilqu u fejn imorru, il-ħin tal vjaġġ, frekwenza, etc. Dan ikun meħtieġ biex b’hekk ikunu determinati ċentri ta’ fejn jiggravita il-fluss. Ma ninsewx li sistema bħal din hija waħda li titlob investiment qawwi ħafna li tkun piż kbir fuq l-ekonomija. Li naqbdu u nħażżu linji minn ċentru abitat għal ieħor mingħajr ma kull linja tkun valutata sew ikun dnub sagrilegu għax dik tispiċċa tkun riċetta li twassal għal kundanna ta’ mewt minn qabel ma l-proġett jitwieled. Qatt ma nistgħu ninjoraw il-‘profitabilita’ (mhux biss immedjatament monitarji) hija kritika. Ma ninsewx li għax fil-passat f’ Malta l-esiġenzi tal-ferrovija li kienet inbniet kienu biss ibbażati fuq eżiġenzi militari, din is-sistema ta’ trasport malajr falliet! Minħabba dan, ma narax li tista’ tinħoloq sistema universali għal dawn il-gżejjer li tkun meħuda fiha nnifisha imma trid tinbena sistema magħmula minn numru ta’ modi ta’ trasport minsuġa flimkien b’mod li ma jkunx hemm ‘skossi’ biex wieħed jibdel minn wieħed għal ieħor filwaqt li toffri l-iktar sistema bl-ikbar firxa geografika u l-aktar konvenjenti u attrajenti. Qabel ma tista’ issir konsultazzjoni oġġettiva, huwa imperattiv li jsiru studji serji (fosthom li semmejt hawn fuq imma mhux biss), u skont dak li joħroġ minn dawn l-istudji jitfasslu għażliet alternattivi diversi. Hemm biss tista’ issir il-vera konsultazzjoni mgħarrfa u mhux waħda bbażata biss fuq impressjonijiet u gosti personali.


  • More efficient public service

    Introduce an independent recruitment process that will tie the public bodies to keep their Permanent Secretaries, even when there is a change in government. If we really want to promote meritocracy, continuity and eliminate clientelism, there needs to be a system installed that ensures people are employed based on merit and qualifications.
