  • Options for the introduction of national service (not necessarily military service)

Consider national service as a ‘nation-building’ policy. Provides young people with a common experience - breaking down partisan outlook Builds sense of service and integrity Supports the integration of new Maltese citizens Option for civilian national service - eg. Uk national citizen service.

  • Car Parking for Senior Citizens

May I please suggest that studies are made towards arranging for the possibility of a government subsidy for senior citizens with motor vehicles to contribute towards the high cost of a car space. Parking is becoming more and more difficult and frustrating. Apart from the fact that senior citizens do not have the energy to go round and round seeking parking. A subsidy to help them afford to possess a parking space in a Parking Premises would be most welcome for senior citizens. To obtain a car space is presently too expensive for senior citizens. Thank you for considering my suggestion.

  • More power to local councils

  • Reproductive rights

PN needs to be more vocal about reproductive rights and women’s rights. Contraception needs to be free, this includes all kinds of contraception - condoms, contraceptive pill (this is also used in some medical conditions), coil and implant. Sexual health education needs to be addressed urgently and in a drastic manner, targeting all ages not just children. Also, abortion must be decriminalised. It’s unacceptable for women to be treated as criminals when they try taking control of their health. Women are going abroad for terminations when pregnancy impacts their health, when there are fatal foetal abnormalities, when they’ve been raped (they happen far more often than you’d think) and more. I’m one of the Doctors for Choice and I volunteer for the FPAS helpline. I hear plenty of horrific stories and they happen frequently. We get requests for information about abortion at least once a day with a vast range of reasons including domestic violence, health problems and dire financial situations

  • Taxxa fuq il-penzjoni tfisser ingustizzja.

Dejjem hallast it-taxxa fuq kull lira/u Euro li qlajt. Mela kif qeghda nerga nhallas it-taxxa fuq il-penzjoni.? Din hija double taxation ghaliex hallast dejjem skond il-paga li kont indahhal. ILni 15 il-sena penzjonanta u ghadni nhallas it-taxxa. PUNT2. tal-Mut kienu fethu kawza lill-gvern dwar din il-kwistjoni, sabiex ninghataw lura it-taxxi li hallasna .IL-process tal-kawza waqqghu Joseph Muscat , b,daqq ta pinna . Din ingustizzja kontra l-haddiem. PUNT 3. Il-kawzi li waqqa' Joseph Muscat ghandhom jergghu jinfethu. PUNT3. GHaliex min jiehu il-penzjoni tat-tezor ma jiehux il-penzjoni tal-bolla shiha? Punt4.... Jiena tkellimt mal OMbudsman dwar dan il-kaz u r-risposta kienet li Joseph Muscat kien ghalaqha. Din hija ingustizzja u l-kawza ghandha titkompla. Wara kollox fil-programmi elettorali kien hemm il-weghda li ser jaghtuna l-arrears lilna penzjonanti ex-ghalliema li tajna s-servizz.

  • Micro-mobility at a local level

More incentives need to be given to people that want to travel using alternative means of transport (example: cycling, scooter, etc.) at a local/town level. If voyages under 2km are not done using a car this could help create a trickle down effect that would ease congestion not just in towns, but also on a national level as with time more people would opt for e-bikes, e-scooters and other means. First priority would be that users that are willing to make that shift can travel safely within towns. Maybe creating a safe ring road around town centers could be a good start. A financial incentive to people that give up their car could also be a great way to give the scheme a boost.

  • Comprehensive sexual education in Schools

Please consider re-vamping the curriculum to ensure that all schools are required to provide a holistic educational experience including sexual and reproductive health. The rising rate of sexually transmitted infections is evidence that the single minded focus on abstinence is failing. Thanks

  • Provide free or subsidised contraception

Taking an anti abortion stand without offering alternatives to those who struggle with protecting themselves from pregnancy is counter-productive. Please consider offering this service, at the very least to those who cannot afford it. Do you have any idea how much a monthly prescription of the contraceptive pill costs? Thanks

  • Decriminalise abortion

Please re-consider your position vis-a-vis this important topic of huge relevance to the hundreds of women and girls in Malta having abortions each year. Being pro-choice does not make you pro-abortion. Just tone down the "favur il hajja" mantra and consider how this will change the way younger voters will react. Meanwhile, engage with pro choice activists and show that you really mean it when you say that you are listening.

  • Free contraception and more access to sexual health clinics

In Malta, there is little or no importance given to sexual health and safe access to contraception. It is not a part of our culture to get tested regularly which results in undiagnosed infections that may cause serious harm and can be spread unknowingly. Our GU clinic, whilst effective is heavily understaffed and requires more investment to ensure that people who cannot afford to visit a private clinic are taking the necessary precautions. People should also be able to receive free contraception which may help with the rate of low income individuals having more children, and should also reduce the demand for unsafe abortions.

  • Electoral reform and party financing before anything else

First things first. The first obvious thing that needs to be implemented is a radical change in the electoral system and party financing rules. Unless the political parties stop being financed, I say underhandedly, by big business, this country will always remain in the deep pits. No need to invent the wheel, just follow what other real democracies have implemented. 1) No more electoral districts, candidates are elected from a nationwide vote similar to European Parliament elections, this will strongly reduce selling oneself for votes in the district and it benefits mostly the candidate himself/herself. This will also open the possibility of voting a third party which is needed in this country. 2) Full time politicians and substantial increase in salary of politicians. This should come in place after establishing clear and appropriate sanctions for politicians caught doing ANY form of business. 3) State party financing. Donations are strictly limited to one or 2 maximum tv or other telethons. Donation amount to be limited to very small value 4) The environment should be given true priority. No gimmicks please. Let's start by reviewing the local plans and cut out the intended loopholes. Scrap immediately the infamous "fuel stations" policy or the "rural" policies. ODZ to be really ODZ, meaning NO DEVELOPMENT ALLOWED FOR WHATEVER REASON. Government should create a national fund and start buying strategically situated property from owners (at market price) in order to give it back to the people in the form of family parks (real ones not fake concrete parks) and other environmentally friendly projects. 5) Remove political parties once and for all from local councils. 6) This one is also crucial. Reform the educational sector, lengthen the school hours so that kids can do the homework, sports and other activites in the after hours. No more parents driving children to extra curricular activities, these should be held in schools. This will reduce traffic and will make it possible to introduce alternative transport from A to B. Without the educational reform, alternative transport will always fail. These are just a few of the proposals which come to mind but there are hundreds more that can be implemented if there is the will to create a real change for the better. The nationalist party needs to start being bold, half measures won't do.

  • Better wages.

We have voted for the European Union because we used to look at the wages and rights of people's such as Germany, France, Italy, etc. But unfortunately up till today we got nothing of the sort. It is high time that we boost up the wages and workers' rights to match those of the European Union West Countries especially with the soaring prices of commodities in Malta.

  • Promotion Material

Checkout my facebook profile. I wrote some poems in maltese that ,ight be useful as promotion material. More to come shortly . . .

  • Parking Solution

I think it's about time we challenge the concept of parking in Malta. We should have a system where on the road parking is limited to certain timeframes all around the island. Heavy fines will be in place for those who ignore these timeframes. On the other hand an annual fee should be put in place which enables the use of underground parking all over the island. This would be a system where a card or similar system is used in order to entitle the user to parking in underground parking. New underground parkings should be considered in order to enable to make zones completely parking free on the roads. It could be maybe possible (this could be more complex to implement) where the government subsidises a number of private parkings in order to use these for the scheme to operate.

  • Penzjonijiet shah ghal dawk li ghandhom penzjoni privata.

Meta gejt biex niehu l-penzjoni tal-gvern, lili kienu qaluli li ma nistghax niehu l-penzjoni kollha minhabba li kelli penzjoni privata. Jien hallast il-bolla tul hajti minghajr ma qatt kelli nieqes. Ghandi kollhox imhallas. Bhali hawn hafna min ghandu penzjoni privata wkoll, ta fejn kont nahdem. Ma nifhimx ghalfejn isiru riklami min kumpaniji biex taghmel penzjoni privata biex meta tasal ghal waqt jitfghulek bomba u jghidulek li parti biss mil-penzjoni tal-gvern intitolat ghalih! Nissugerixxi li l-ligi (jekk vera tezisti) tigi emendata biex dawk li jhallsu ghal penzjoni privata kif ukoll tal-gvern permezz tal-bolla, jiehdu dak li jkun haqqhom. Barra min hekk il-bolla bhal hadd iehor tkun hallasta u s-sagrificcju biex ikollhok penzjoni itjeb u tghix ahjar int tkun ghamilta. Ma narahiex sew li certu nies, ex ministri jiehdu aktar min penzjoni wahda u jiehdu anke tal-gvern u ahna rridu nitkarrbu ghax jiehdulna parti mil-penzjoni taghna.
